Summary

A string of disappearances and gruesome murders has Houston on edge. Witnesses whisper about a wolf man prowling the streets, and the authorities struggle to explain the mangled bodies left in its wake. While authorities urge the public to remain calm, inconsistencies in official reports have only fueled speculation, with underground forums and late-night radio hosts fanning the flames of an already unsettled city.

Since early last month, at least six individuals have vanished without a trace, while several others have been found brutally mutilated in isolated parts of the city. The Houston PD has yet to release a formal statement on the nature of the attacks, but unnamed sources suggest that forensic teams are struggling to identify a clear cause of death. The injuries defy easy explanation; no conventional weapons, no obvious animal predation, and yet a level of brutality that has seasoned officers shaken. Despite this, law enforcement remains firm in its stance. "There is no so-called 'wolf man,' no monster stalking the streets of Houston," Detective Michael Vasquez stated at a press briefing. "We are dealing with violent crimes, and while the details remain under investigation, we will not entertain baseless rumors."

It had these long arms, claws like a damn bear, and fur all over. And the eyes? they glowed, like an animal caught in headlights. I heard it breathing, real heavy, like it was sniffing me out. Then it just vanished into the trees." Salinas, who was out walking home from his job at a shipping yard late at night, says he stumbled upon something he wasn't meant to see near one of the crime scenes before authorities cordoned off the area. "I told the cops, but they just looked at me like I was crazy. Next thing I know, they're telling me I must've been drunk or seeing things. But I wasn't. That thing was real."

Niche forums like Midnight Truth are ablaze with speculation, with some claiming that the killings match those of unsolved cases from decades past. Others insist the government is covering up something far worse; an escaped experiment, a military bioweapon, or a secret war between factions the public isn't meant to know about. One particularly active thread alleges that bodies have been quietly disappearing from the morgue, and that eyewitness accounts are being altered or suppressed.

Officers who initially described the murders as "inhuman" have since walked back their statements. When pressed about these discrepancies, city officials declined to comment. For now, the Houston PD insists the city is safe, increasing patrols in affected areas and advising residents to take normal precautions. But as the body count rises and answers remain elusive, the question lingers; what exactly is happening in Houston? And why does it feel like the truth is being buried along with the victims?
