Tiffany shrugs and shivers. "GHosts." Another shiver. "No thank you." She is sitting with Chuck at a picnic table. Her flannel over shirt is someplace around the front of the house but these two are in back sharing fish and ice tea.
Chuck frowns at the thought, then takes a deep breath and shakes his head. He's shed his hat and duster for the time being, exposing his sidearm to view while they aren't in public here. Tiffany is seated across the picnic table from him, where they're both having freshly grilled fish and iced tea. "I think I have to agree. The idea of them is not a pleasant one. Spirits are one thing, but that seems... different."
Samson is coming along at a slow amble, looking at the flowers and the trees and the bees. But he does get to the table eventually "Hey there! Chuck said I should come by and say hello? I'm Samson."
Lila comes into the farm and just follows the voices and finds Chuck, and Tiffany at the picnic table. "Why, hello there. How you been doing Chuck? I think we meet once before. " she looks to Tiffany and smiles at her. "I am not sure if we met though. I am Lila. "
Tiffany turns at the sound of someone approaching. Her dishes are set aside and she watches with curiosity. At Samsons introduction she gasps and her face lights up. It even looks like she just barely stops herself from rushing over to hug him. "Hi!" She giggles after the single word. "Oh ... um ... Hi there. I'm Tiffany Clery." A brief curtsy. "Kinfolk to the Children of Gaia." Lila gets a finger wave to. "Oh hi. Love the jeans!"
Chuck washes down a last bite with some iced tea and gets to his feet as well. "Hey, big man, good to see you. And you too, ma'am. We met at Luna's if I'm not mistaken? If I am, sorry about that. The last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind of new faces. Which has not let up today, either. Samson, have you run into Breaker yet, otherwise known as Kahale? He was here earlier, delivering a cooler of this fish, in fact. He said he was going to ask the waves about Caelum."
Samson shakes his head at Chuck "I haven't. Apparently though Todd has met Caelum! He's a friend of Meridian's so I'm pondering a suitable gift before I go for a visit to ask for an introduction." Then to Tiffany "I'm Samson Brown, rited Sleeping-Thunder, Kovi of the Mountain Guardian Gurhal and Alpha of the pack Solidarity under Unicorn. I love your farm!" Then to Lila "I've been meaning to come find you to offer to help with the clinic for Juniper Cross. I don't have any sort of license or degree though so we'll need at least one person to be on the books for any public facing paperwork."
Tiffany giggles through Samsons introduction. It doesn't mean much to her but "I've always wanted to meet a Gurhal!" she blurts and laughs again. "Thank you! Sit and make yourself comfortable. Can I get you a drink? What?" she asks Lila. "Yeah, bathroom is down the hall on the left."
Chuck shrugs at Samson with a small grin. Some people are just good at attracting fan clubs, aren't they? "I think I already told you what I know of Meridian's tastes, right? Someone brought up candy as an option earlier too, and I think that might just work? And the farm, did you see the greenhouse around the side yet? Maybe something like that would be good to build at Juniper too?"
Samson grins broadly at Tiffany's enthusiasm as he sits down gently "Water's always nice. Our pack actually has met a lot of folks from your tribe, the shared totem sure does help with the introductions." Then to Chuck "Oh yeah, I got some Ingberlach from this little old lady I helped across the street when I was exploring some more of the city the other day. I can save the rest and it'll be a worthy sacrifice because its real good honey and ginger candy. And I can tell the story of how I got it and how her family moved here about forty years ago. I helped carry her groceries up on her porch, the Curse didn't seem to bother her much and it was kinda nice."
Lila comes back from the bathroom and smiles at the group rejoining them again. "Sorry about that folks. I am back though. This is what happens when you drink to much water. "
Tiffany looks over at the greenhouse briefly. "Sure! I mean what ever I can do to help if you wanna talk some starts from there. Er ... " she nibbles at her lower lip. "I did give some space to Eric so you might wanna ask him. But he's kin. I know he'll help." With a grin she dashes off and returns with water for the bear man.
Chuck frowns at the mention of the curse, going quiet for a moment. He snaps out of it after a few seconds, catching up with what Samson's saying. "Sounds like you've been productive, haven't you? That does sound like it would work better than... I don't know lemonheads or something like that."
He turns to the pair of kinfolk. "I don't think we'd need to disturb anything over there, including whatever Eric has set up. I just thought y'all around here would know things about farming in this area that we didn't. No point in reinventing the wheel, right?"
Samson nods at Chuck "These are home made and she's not kinfolk but I've got a good feeling about her. They're a seasonal treat usually only made this time of year. Its about tradition and connecting with their Ancestors for a holiday called Passover." Nodding and smiling at Tiffany in agreement with Chuck "Yeah we're not trying to take over or supplant any efforts already in progress, just supplement. Todd had some ideas for making jams and jellies as a sort of cottage industry type thing so we started talking about starting a community garden in town by the Juniper Cross community."
Tiffany sits back down those even seated she seems sort of bouncy still. "Oh I know! I mean like plant starts. Something to get you going on what ever it is you wanna grow over there. " A sigh. "I really do need to make more time for it but I've been so busy ... "
Lila smiles to the group and adds. "I am kin to glasswalkers my self. It is nice to meet you Tiffany. Thanks, these old things I just had laying around and decided to wear them. " she will turn to samson and smiles. "so, Someone said that I should speak to you about starting a clinic in the juniper commuinity I am wanting to see who all wants to help me. "
Chuck looks from the others to Lila as she gets back around to the topic of the clinic. "Lots of projects in need of starting, right? I may try to help with the clinic some too, but it's not exactly my specialty. I can help set up computers for you, or something, but I'm no doctor. I do expect to be helping Jean set up better internet access too, which will be more of an indirect thing."
Samson nods enthusiastically at Tiffany "And the Juniper Cross community garden is going to be mostly for the mundane community in the end. We were also talking about setting up an apiary because the honey would be useful for jam, jelly, and candy making. And the Bees would be good for the garden." Then he gestures around at the farm "Basically like this but on a smaller scale in a more urban setting." Then to Lila "I will be happy to help. I'm a trained healer by the standards of my people but for anything mortal facing you'd have to be on the paper as in charge since you've got all the certifications and education that human law expects yeah? And if you don't quite have all you can get the rest easier than I can. I know a lot about what goes into this sort of thing but I've never taken lead on it before."
Tiffany looks around as people talk, that excited smile on her face as she does. "Oh well that might lead back to Eric. He tells me most of teh stuff he grows over there has medicinal uses." She pauses to look around again. "Oh are you doctor?" Lila is asked. "I'm studying to be a therapist. But that's years away yet."
Lila smiles as she looks to Chuck. "Yeah, computers would be a good thing to have to keep records on and book keeping purposes. I could use internet being hooked up too. " she looks to Samson as well. "Oh, Yes I am a full fledged doctor. I went to medical school and did my residency already. So I just need a clinic to work out of. " She will comment that to Tiffany as well.
Chuck aims a thumbs up in Lila's direction, and looks over to Tiffany with a continuing impressed expression. "Both of those take a lot of school, that's great that you can do that. Not that I regret getting my call to serve Gaia, but it would have been nice to have been able to finish college. I kind of had to leave in a hurry." He smiles, but it's a dry and humorless one.
Samson shrugs and grins "In most of the communities my Mother and I traveled to I was more of a doctor than most of them would ever see. I know a lot about herbal medicine and natural remedies. Not this super diluted homeopathy nonsense but actual medicine. I look forward to meeting Eric then, I got a trauma kit with some modern supplies but I'd feel better if I had a line on some green things."
Tiffany nods her head at the school comment. "Yeah. I need to stop ... stopping." She laughs but it's not entirely mirthful. "In the mean time I can pitch in how ever I'm needed there. Or just bring produce from here as often as I can."
Lila smiles the group gathered there. "Oh, I see. All of your help would be helpful. Even if its not medically inclined any help and support will help out. So, forgive me but I am new to town and still settling in. But, how many glass walkers are there in the city?"
Chuck blinks and does some quick mental math before answering Lila. "Not a whole lot, I don't think? I only know of 3, including myself and Todd, as well as one named Enzo that only just arrived last night. That's for Garou, I mean. There's also you, and whatever family you might have in the area? So yeah, not many, but apparently our numbers are growing pretty quickly."
Samson considers Lila's question and nods in Agreement with Chuck "And Enzo mentioned another being on the way I think?" Then to Tiffany "Produce would totally be helpful. Plus if you know anything about making stuff into jams or preserves we need to learn that too."
Tiffany opens her mouth. Closes it again. She smirks and Check fills in what she was going to say. "That covers it, as far as I know. I've met more Fera than Garou. But they've all been very nice!"
Chuck looks up at Lila as he has a sudden thought, practically a light bulb over his head moment. "Ah, so you must have come here on your own recently then, didn't you? And with not many of us around... Let me give you my cell phone number. Just in case you need anything, you'll be able to reach me quickly that way. Hopefully there aren't going to be any kind of emergencies that need it, but Tiffany was telling me she was around for a bane attack recently, and had to fight one herself. So if you want to learn to shoot, I can help with that too."
Lila looks to Chuck as he addresses her and smiles and nods at his words. "Yes, I don't mind trading cell numbers with you. I hope you don't mind it if I call upon you to hangout as well. But I'd love to learn how to shoot. It could be beneficial. Oh I have met Todrick my self he is a pretty good guy. I have met other shifters too. "
Samson nods "Todd's even friendlier than me some times. Or at least more out going, I don't do so great with Strangers...or crowds. This right here is right in my comfort zone."
Tiffany perks up. She looks to Lila and Chuck. "Really? You both have cell phones?" she asks with a grin and hint of awe. "Can I see them? Do they work out here?"
Lila smiles and reaches into her pocket and pulls out a little flip phone and waves it at Tiffany. "It isn't much but it works and well texting on this thing is a bitch. My fingers hit the wrong keys at times. " she will look to Chuck and Samson to see thier responses.
Chuck steps over to his jacket and fishes into one of the pockets to pull out a nice little brick of a portable phone. He holds it up, checking the screen. "Yeah, two, wait one... Two again... Let's call it two bars of signal. I guess we're close enough to the city here, that's nice. Handy things. We'll have a regular line set up at the house soon two, but this works in the meantime. And, uh, sure, it doesn't have to be official business for calls. Whatever you need. We've all got to support each other as best we can, right?" He exchanges the numbers, pretty good at not fat fingering the keys himself. Once he's done he hands his over to Tiffany to check out.
Tiffany takes the phone very carefully so she doesn't break it. She looks at it with a grin, turning it over and over before looking at the screen. "This is so cool." Then her land line phone rings and she hands it back. "Darn it. One sec."
Samson is sipping his water and looks around at the farm "The land here is very relaxing, it feels content. I don't actually know how to speak with the bees yet but from what I know about they they seem like they're thriving."
Lila looks to Samson and smiles up at him. "Yeah, it is a nice little farm. I seem to like it actually. I should come out here more often. " she turns to Chuck and smiles. "so, what do you both like to do for fun around here?"
Chuck is caught off guard by Lila's question, looking quickly at Samson even though there's not likely to be a ton of help there. "Fun? Fun... That's a good question. Samson, when was the last time we had fun?" The question is clearly meant jokingly, Chuck's mouth twitching as he tries to suppress a smile. "We haven't really had much vacation time for a while... But lately it's mostly been just sharing some beers at Luna? The moot was more business than pleasure, but still a good time. What else, what else..."
Tiffany comes back out muttering about telemarketers. She heads back to her seat and perks up. "Fun? Is someone planning a party?"
Samson grins "I went swimming in the Ocean in bear form for the first time. I like to imagine I'm one of the first grizzlies to swim in the gulf except for the one other Mountain Guardian I met in town. We don't normally range around here. It was nice to meet someone I felt reasonably sized next to." Then to Tiffany "We're all new in town and just sort of figuring things out."
Lila smiles and grins at Samson. "Oh wow that is some swim. I knew bears loved to swim someone once told me other wise. "
Chuck shrugs at Tiffany, his phone set back on the table. "Not specifically, no? Unless it's a swimming party, apparently. It's actually been a while for us since we've been settled in area like this with our kind. A bit more than a year, depending on how you count. So it's mostly been the just the four of us, which is a pretty small group for anything that could be called a party. But you know how it is, being in public is difficult. Especially for me."
Lila looks to the group once again and gets back on topic. "Okay, so Samson your going to help with your medic know how. Chuck you said you can help with computers and internet did I hear that right? and Tiffany your going to bring produce. That should help out a bit. Now, we just neeed to talk about time frame and when we can have the clinic up and running."
Tiffany listens in and processes everything for a moment. She laughs a little bit. "You know it was suggested I get a pool put in. I've got the space here. Though ... I think that may have been suggested so skinny dipping was easier. " Again she laughs. "But it's possible. Might be expensive though."
Chuck raises an eyebrow at Tiffany's talk about the pool, then shakes his head and looks down and away shyly at the potential explanation. Then he crosses his arms and nods to Samson. "I have access to some funds, but probably not to set up a whole medical clinic. And some may be needed for the ISP startup too. I'll need to check with Jean. Oh, I can drive truck though, too. I don't technically have a CDL, but... We can find a way to move heavy equipment if that's going to be a thing."
Lila nods at Samson's words. "Oh, yes funding that is crucial. I think I can offer some of my funds to the clinic. I will speak to others in the sept and see if they can lend a helping hand with funding. Maybe we could have a fundraiser event. " She states before the group.
Tiffany gives a wan smile to Lila. "Yeah. Sorry. Same here." A nervous laugh. "What's it called? Land poor? On paper I've got resources but it's all kind of tied up in things. But I can make time to help. I can bring out the llamas too. They're very relaxing and friendly!"
Samson nods at Chuck "Oh sure, but if we write about the project to your family maybe they'll release some extra funds? Or was that Todd that I was gonna ask to do that I forget." Then to Tiffany "Oh they sound so great, I wonder if there's a way to keep us from frightening them too much. Especially Todd. Poor guy loves animals but He's got a double dose of whatever makes beast born frightening for things that wolves might eat. So he scares them and its so sad." Looking up at the sky for a moment, Samson sighs "I think its time for me to hit the road. Been nice talking to you all."
Chuck scratches his chin with his knuckle. "I don't know, maybe? I can try, at least. It's a worthy cause, so hopefully. If not, well, I'd better stay away from any fundraisers. I'd be more of a hindrance than a help there. Just like Todd and the cows."
Lila smiles to Samson and to the others there and stands up stretching since she had been sitting down for so long. "Ah, well it was just a thought. But I should get going and see what other things need my attention. It has been nice talking with you all. Nice meeting you Tiffany. Feel free to reach out to me. " she pulls out her phone and calls chucks phone. "There chuck you have my number share it with her in case she neeeds something or wants to chat again. " With that she is off
Tiffany pretends at a brief pout as people start to leave. "Awww. Well it was really nice meeting everyone. You're welcome back any time! And ... I'm not sure about the llamas and Todd... "
