Mouse

Introduction[ edit ]

From the time she could toddle, Mouse was different. While other children ran screaming from the neighborhood stray or swatted at bees, Mouse sat calmly, her hand outstretched. Animals of all kinds seemed drawn to her, trusting her implicitly. A stray dog she named Daisy would guard her as a toddler; a snake she called Slick slithered from her garden to coil gently around her wrist. Her parents, bewildered but charmed, marveled at how their daughter could tame the untamable.

As Mouse grew, her gift only deepened. She volunteered at wildlife rescues, trained troubled dogs, and even rehabilitated injured birds. Videos of her soothing feral cats or coaxing a snarling dog into wagging its tail went viral, and soon, her unique bond with animals caught the eye of the world. Hollywood came calling, first with requests to train animals for movies, then as a personality in her own right. Her natural charisma and uncanny animal skills made her a sensation.

Her rise was meteoric. A-list celebrities invited her to their homes, entrusting her with their pampered pets. She appeared on late-night talk shows, walking out with exotic animals perched on her shoulders. But fame brought its darker side. The glamorous parties she attended were rife with temptation. At first, Mouse resisted, staying true to her love for animals. But the constant demands of her work, the pressure to perform, and the glittering allure of celebrity life wore her down.

It began innocently—a pill here to ease her anxiety, a drink there to help her sleep. But one night, a so-called friend handed her something stronger. Heroin. The warm numbness it brought seemed to ease everything—the endless noise, the spotlight, the pressure. Soon, it became her escape.

Mouse's life unraveled quickly. Jobs were missed, relationships strained, and her finances disappeared. Her animals, once her greatest joy, became casualties of her descent. Some were taken away when she lost her home; others, unable to cope with her instability, were rehomed. Eventually, only the most loyal remained.

Now, Mouse roams the city streets, a shadow of her former self. She carries all her possessions in a tattered backpack, always surrounded by her animal companions. Boscoe, her massive pitbull mix, is her protector and anchor. His intimidating size belies his gentle heart, and he rarely leaves her side. Rizzo, a clever and cheeky rat, perches on her shoulder, occasionally scurrying into her coat pocket. Frigga, her tarantula, lives in a small plastic container, emerging when Mouse needs a quiet moment of comfort. Mister Whiskers, her scruffy, aloof cat, often scouts ahead, returning to nuzzle her when the nights grow too cold. And then there are Hugin and Mugin, the two crows who follow her wherever she goes, their black feathers shimmering in the sunlight as they watch her with eyes that seem to understand more than they should.

Despite her circumstances, Mouse’s gift remains. Stray animals still approach her, sensing her kind soul beneath the layers of pain and addiction. She shares what little food she can find with her companions, prioritizing them over herself. In the rare quiet moments, she dreams of finding her way back—of reclaiming her life, not for her own sake, but for the animals who never abandoned her.

The world no longer remembers Mouse as the Animal Whisperer, but on the streets, she's a legend. Other homeless people know her as the woman who can tame anything, who is never without her motley family of creatures. And though she has lost everything, she finds solace in the unconditional love of her companions, a fragile beacon of hope in a life otherwise shrouded in darkness.

RP Hooks[ edit ]
  • Mortal: She is just a plain mortal, at least in appearance. She has some unique abilities.
  • Transplant: She honestly doesn't remember where she is from, or much about her past anymore.
  • DRUGS: She's an addict, she NEEDS them. Hers might be the worst, heroin.
  • Animals: She seems to get along better with them than other humans. She even has a little odd pack of her own that occasionally wander around with her.
  • Homeless: She sleeps on the streets and she does her best to make sure no one follows her to where she is crashing. She doesn't stay in one location for too long before migrating to another somewhere in the city.
  • Shifters: Due to her high willpower, she actually seems to be chill around all of them, still clueless to their existence but she doesn't get the heebie jeebies like all the other mortals.
